The Night Sky
The breeze was a pleasant sort of cold. As was the night that surrounded
her. The clouds were thin, and the stars were bright. And she was alone.
The cool concrete of the apartment rooftop
was not the most comfortable, but that didn't bother her. She was lost in the
world around her, as her music played softly. Her breaths were small, and
came slowly. Her bright eyes took in every detail of the world around her, as
it grew bigger with every breath she took.
The stars twinkled in reply to her racing
thoughts, and her music filled in the empty spots of the nighttime ambiance.
Her spirit rose with every note, her heart beating in time with the drums. She
drank in the moment, wanting to savor every second she could get. She wanted
more than anything to do everything.
She wanted to bathe in the starlight. She wanted to start running and
never stop. She wanted to travel the world, explore the ocean, journey to
space! Riding the wind, kissing the clouds, feeling the earth and it's richness
as a whole; she wanted to do it all. She wanted freedom, she wanted grace. She
wanted to feel a love that would last forever, and gain a strength that would
never fail.
She wanted to embrace the dawn, while still cherishing the beautiful night she beheld before her. But instead, she stayed. It was true; the sky was her escape, and music fueled her dreams. But that was all they ever seemed to be.

Dreams. Fragments of an imagination that
refused to be tamed. But perhaps, one day, they might become a reality...
Perhaps....
